Investment thesis
Brazil does not lack buyers for affordable homes. It lacks homes
A supply problem, not a demand problem
Under Minha Casa, Minha Vida, Brazil's federal home-ownership
program, buyers are financed through the state. The fund focuses on
what remains: building the right product, on time and on budget,
with capital returned and recycled from one project into the next.
Every home delivered moves a working family into ownership,
making social impact part of the product rather than a by-product.
The strategy is built around UN Sustainable Development Goal 11,
which calls for access to adequate, safe and affordable housing for all.
Projects are urban infill on existing water, power and transit networks,
which means less sprawl and shorter commutes for the families who
live there.
